Horrible Tragedy

I guess most of you have heard on the news that a horrible tragedy has happened in my little community. I've received some e-mails regarding the Christmas Tragedy in Covina, California.

Since I'm off work right now for the season, I haven't heard if these kids belong to my school district, but chances are, they do. There are several kids left without parents, the death toll is up to 10 people killed there... all adults (different news stations say 9 people, I'm not really sure yet, they're still searching.)

Anyway, I wanted to ask that you all please keep the surviving family in your prayers, such a horrible thing to happen on Christmas will, I'm sure, ruin Christmas for these kids for the rest of their lives.

Thank you very much, I appreciate all your well wishes for this family.

God Bless,
Joann

  1. In our paper today it says he was upset about the recent divorce settlement~she got awarded some cash & the custody of a dog. My word...that's worth killing innocent adults & children? All so planned out, to the last detail. He sounds like he was a sick & evil person. Now who's going to care for the dog? Such a horrible thing for any community to deal with. Yes, I will remember the friends and families of the victims. Linda

  2. Read in the paper this morning his original plan was to head to Canada (tickets and $17K cash). But the flamethrower expoded and caused burns. He ended up killing himself instead. Tragic event.

  5. I heard of it and was completely sickened by it. This is why some women are afraid to leave abusive husbands ... (been there) for fear of what he will do not only to you but those you love. I'll be certain to pray for the families and friends of those involved. So sad.

  13. He had to have some type of emotional problem to do all of this. So terrible! I heard that one child was shot in the face as she ran toward who she thought was Santa. I am just so sorry that this happened.

  17. Hey JoAnn,
my deepest condolences for what happened over in your neck of the woods. I didn't realize how close to home that struck for you. I sure am praying for those families there and especially those kids that survive. Such senseless and needless tragedy...

  18. Joann, My heart goes out to your community, and prayers. When I heard he point blank shot that eight year old child when she opened the door, my stomach felt sick. I do not get why people that break up feel they have to resort to such madness and take out the ones they profess to love and those with them. It makes no sense and never will to me. God Bless.
