I have been blessed with alot of wonderful friends... I've shared that before. I love my friends, and am always there to help in whatever they need.
We know each other differently, all the 'good' and all the 'fun' in each other. We enjoy each other's company, and spend time together that we take for granted.
When someone we love is suddenly faced with an illness that we think will never hit that close to home, that feeling of helplessness is almost too much to bare.
We think that we're, somewhat, invincible.... that we're too strong to have such a devastating illness.
The emotions of discovering such an illness in someone you are so close to, are immeasurable.... you dwell on the realization that a best friend that you always call whenever you want to take a spontaneous road trip.... one who you know will always have your back... one who will keep your secrets.... one who understands you when noone else will.... is facing something that NOBODY should have to face.
It's not fair!!
But God is good, and He will get us through things that we don't understand. I will do whatever I can for my friend, and most of all, I will pray... ALOT!
It's been a very emotional day for me, so if some of this doesn't make sense... it's ok, it doesn't really have to, right now.
I just felt I needed to write something. Thanks for reading it.

This was my good friend, Bob.
I met Bob at the local high school football games, about 10 years ago, or so. We both worked the football games, and each September, I looked forward to seeing Bob, again. He was a person that everyone loved and respected.
Bob, his wife, and I would meet at the steakhouse, where my son worked at the time, for dinner and talk for hours.
After Bob, had a stroke, he looked forward to coming back to work the field, again, to see everyone.... but with Bob's deteriorating health, that never happened.
Over the next few years we actually become closer friends... I would pick him and his wife up and take them grocery shopping, out to dinner, to the bank or whatever they needed.
Later, when Bob couldn't get out anymore, I would just come and visit, and bring Bob his favorite goodies.... mostly maple bars from the local donut shop, but he loved my pot roast, and pumpkin pie too.
But a massive stroke finally took my friend away earlier this month, and I miss him tremendously.
Bob was a very good man. At his service I got to meet the rest of his family... his daughters and their families. They were all wonderful. And my prayers are with them for comfort in their loss.

Happy New Year!
I'm kinda late with this post asking people to tell me how their holidays were, and wishing you all a Happy New Year!!
But there's some I haven't heard from, and since I didn't send Christmas cards out this year, I didn't get to greet you.
So if you haven't told me yet, let me know how your holidays were. I miss hearing from you. = )
Mine were wonderful of course. Spent it mostly with friends and my mom.
Some pics from some of the holiday fun!!
