ADVERTISERS are COMMENTING!!!!!!

WHAT THE HECK....!?!??! ADVERTISERS are posting COMMENTS on my blog!!!!! I can't believe this!!! I don't want to have to read every comment before it's published or have my readers enter in funny letters that make funny words just to leave a comment!!! Grrrr!!!! This is RIDICULOUS!!! I'm not going to delete it, so that you all can see it... it's the last comment on my last post! A comment from 'online casinos'..... Online Casinos, if you are reading this, I want you to know that you are the reason we hate advertisers!!!! You get into everything!!! This is my personal blog for my friends, I will not go private just because of you!! I will, however, in the future, delete all the comments you leave here.... and absolutely BOYCOTT 'ONLINE CASINOS'!!!

  1. Not sure if it is an advertiser, or just someone at that local reading and commenting. Fairly innocent comments, they visited mine as well, so I would not get to concerned or upset :o)

    Happy Thanksgiving Holiday :o)

  2. If you start getting socked with such spam, turn on the word verification for a while. No one will mind, and it will cut out the stray comments after a while.

  6. Well, Ken has a thought that it might be someone who works at that site who's reading our blogs, because they're leaving comments on alot of blogs!!! Hmmm!! OK, Ken... guess I shouldn't be too upset.

  7. I got one too from this place, but you know I didn't feel too bad about it because they actually had read my post and commented on it rather than just leave an advertisement on it. I'm with you though I don't want to use the letter verification and I don't want to have view every comment before it goes on my journal.

    Happy Thanksgiving!!

  9. I can't figure out if that guy is merely a reader & leaving that link or an advertiser. It's really hard to tell. Linda in WA

  10. Unfortunately I was hit hard at my business blog by spam comments all online casino related. I finally had to set it up so I had to moderate the comments first. I find they leave one comment and realize it's not getting the results they want and move on.

  11. Oh and one of the comments was "ha ha that was a funny entry" ... IF they had read it, they would've realized I was writing about the death of my beloved dog. Yeah, it was a really funny haha entry. NOT! They don't even read the entry, they saw a photo and decided it had to be funny I guess. Who knows. Anyway, when I saw all the casino related comments, I noticed from my sitemeter that I got hit hard at that time from "readers" in Singapore.

  12. I think I got one of those as well, but since it was on topic, maybe someone was just reading from their work? hmmm.. I won't be offended if you put up the word scramble.

  13. I have word verification on my blog but I still had a message from Online casinos~ I think we should charge them for the advertising :o) ~ it was an innocent comment so won't let it bother me ~ Ally x

  16. I got a comment like the casino one, only thing was, I was linked to a site that sold farm machinery. I couldn't help but laugh. I live in the desert and have no use for farm machinery. I have a site tracker, so I saw that the link came from a computer at a college in Illinois. Go figure. I couldn't tell if the comment was innocent or not.

  20. That casino comment irritates me! I'll be trying to figure a way so that all the AOL journalists can give them a little payback. In the interim, I'd reconnect the word verification or monitor the comments for a while.

I clicked the link and it's defintely a casino with obvious bad manners.

  21. Are you sure it's not a person with that screen name? I went and looked at it and they commented on what you wrote soooo that means it's a person not a business or advertiser.
    Take care, Chrissie
